What's the security engineering interview process like at Google? What kind of topics are typically covered, what should I be aware of? YoE: 5
Each interview has a bunch of questions, sometimes open-ended. 2-3 interviews include an easy / medium coding question, we just want to see you're able to write some code. Questions and topics depend on interviewers, anything is fair game based on your self-assessment and resume. LPT: don't claim you're a 4/5 in crypto when you've never heard of AES. Focus might be different depending on whether it's for detection & response or proactive teams (security engineering etc.)
I work in security at Google. Regular interview, leetcode style then team match.
Thanks. :) For the security interviews, do you usually ask a series of different questions, tend to drill down on specific topics, do something more hands on, something else?
They sent me through “full-stack” pipeline and domain expertise part was all about browser front-end (which I bombed). Security topics did not come up until team match where they only ask you what you worked on.
