NYC-based, two offers in the table rn: Amazon application security engineer L5 - year one TC of $365k $205k base year one sign-on bonus of $140k, year 2 is $110k 2300 shares over 4 years ($136 a share rn) I counter-offered and asked for $410k TC, no response yet Nvidia Product Security Engineer (remote) IC3 - $219k TC $175k base $175k shares vested equally over 4 years recruiter mentioned he could probably get the TC to $400k with more stock and also mentioned a rare chance of a sign-on bonus. I think the amazon offer is the better one on paper but I’d probably hate my life less at nvidia? especially with nvidia’s benefits + being remote. Please leave your thoughts, and I will update with any counter-offer responses. #cybersecurity #security #offer
As an L5 AppSec Engineer at Amazon, go NVIDIA.
Do you not like it? I was considering moving to AppSec from SWE
UPDATE: got Nvidia to counter with $205k base, $220k stock over four years, + 40k sign on bonus. Currently leaning more toward nvidia based on this new offer.
Hi OP congratulations on the offer. when did you give your interview? I had a good onsite but haven’t heard back anything from nvidia.
it took forever to hear back, almost 2 weeks, only heard back that they wanted to make me an offer after I told them amazon made me an offer
Thank you for responding, I’m also thinking of using this card but want something concrete first :). Can I DM you to ask which team you interviewed with etc? I think prod sec is broad at Nvidia?
@bgis3853 Congrats on the offers. Can't comment on the offers but remote-friendly is way advantageous I'd say. Can you tell a bit about your background? Would help understand what it takes to get such offers. Can I dm?
In this market, I think it’s unlikely Amazon will do 410k for an L5 SecEng, but still worth taking a shot (best of luck!). 410 is bottom of band for L6 SrSecEng.
Final update: Got Nvidia to make me a final offer of $210k base, $305k total stock grant and a $40k sign-on bonus and took that. Thanks for all the input!
Not sure what you mean by 305 for 4 year? Does it meant your total grant is 1.2M?
it means my total grant is $305k, so $76,250 a year for 4 years

I’d go Nvidia it sounds like a more interesting role plus the ability to be remote
