I am 49 years old and have had a reasonably successful career with multiple start ups and currently working at a very small security startup in Stealth mode. I have been able to accumulate 4 million USD in cash now and want to make use of it the best way. Here is how I am using some of it, but need help on the remaining: I have allocated 1 million USD for stock investing as that has been my passion since last 20 years and also worked well for me: 1) 300K in Motley Fool 100 Index - https://www.fool100.com/ 2) 300K in StockBuzzNow portfolio mirroring - https://www.stockbuzznow.com/ 3) 200K in Fidelity ZERO Large Cap Index 4) 200K in iShares Core S&P 500 ETF (IVV) I want to continue keeping about 1 million in cash for security. Is that a bad idea? The remaining 2 million is where I am seeking help. Should I consider investing in real estate? If so, any good suggestions as I have very little experience with it (only bought my own home). Or should I put more in ETFs or individual stocks? I am also thinking to put some money in Schwab S&P 500 Index Fund (SWPPX). Thank you in advance. #personalfinance #investments
Yay, another stockbuzznow shill post from one of mohit's indian friends.
PLTR LEAPs
Good suggestion but I have been split between buying LEAPs vs just the shares itself. Thoughts?
Idk man. I don’t touch speculative investments.
Why are you bothering with motley fool and stockbuzz. What even is stockbuzz? The site quality makes me think its a scam
Well both have been very effective for me. TMF analysis is very good to read and their fund is pretty safe option to invest in. StockBuzzNow i have been using for several years now for individual stocks, and it is actually quite effective. Not just good picks but personal guidance has been valuable. Not so big yet and not very commercial.
May be consider house flipping, very good resource if interested: https://www.amazon.com/Book-Flipping-Houses-Residential-Properties/dp/1947200100/ref=as_li_ss_tl?keywords=flipping+houses&qid=1548013906&s=Books&sr=1-4&linkCode=sl1&tag=coachcarsonco-20&linkId=f0e008995e619ff332719a50f15ff398&language=en_US
Thank you, good idea but I really don't have any experience with it and seems like a lot of hard work :).
You can hire a realtor to help you with it. If done well, can generate you decent returns.

Sorry, did not understand your suggestion if you could elaborate? thanks
Throw some into BTC for diversification
Do you own any real estate
Yes, but only 1 house where I live with my family in California. No other rental property.
What is your net worth?
$1M is cash is way too much to have on hand IMO. With interest rates below inflation, you're technically losing some of your cash each year as its purchasing power decreases. I only keep enough cash for one year of living expense burn.
Probably right, I will consider adding more to StockBuzzNow mirroring after discussing with him. I think you may be right.
Not sure about real estate, but you may also want to look at Vanguard S&P 500 ETF. Worked well for me so far.
Thank you, i will consider. But I prefer Schwab over Vanguard as per my assessment.
...ivv and voo track the same thing
