Self-study vs MSCS/postbac

I have enough saved that I can quit to study fulltime for a year without changing standard of living. Would taking out loans to cover the added cost of tuition in an MSCS or postbac be worth it? The degree would likely not be from a top school. Already have a STEM masters with good grades and decent GRE, but no undergrad CS classes to fill prerequisites for most programs. Being part of a student cohort, having live professors, and having access to campus recruiting are all useful, but come with a big price tag. Don't think the new certificate itself would benefit me since I already have a masters and Oracle on my resume. My goal is primarily to learn, and maybe break into a new type of work if I fall in love with a topic on the way. TC 140

If your goal is to learn I'd say get a masters. If your goal is to improve your career, given where you are... Self study

Agreed. If you are looking for more TC getting a masters is a waste of time. Spend that time getting promoted and leetcoding.
