Both are long term $MSFT (over 1 year, less than 2yrs). Assuming total gains are almost identical. Thanks š
What the difference between these 2 options? Can you name oneā¦since you seem to think it makes a difference
If total gain are identical, they are identical. No difference at all! In most cases, cost basis are different. So you sell the one have more profit if you see your income continue increase in the future!
Sell the one with more profits are better than the one with less profits?
No, it depends your tax bracket in the future. Say you are taxed 20% this year and 30% next year, then you want to sell the one you have more gain this year. Most people have more income for the future. Thatās why Roth is attractive in a lot people.
The way you should think is first in first out so you will be charged long term capital gain
