Which semiconductor manufacturing company is a good point to start the career in terms of learning curve, WLB, culture, pay etc?
#samsung#intel#micron#semiconductor
Worked at all 3 companies for years.
Samsung semi - You shut up and do what you are told to do. They might not even tell you why you are doing it, you will in total dark about strategy, product placement, and other decisions that HQ makes in Korea. Forget about you trying to bring new ideas to the team, you will just be ignored.
Intel - very laid back, many people come to office at 11 and go home at 4. Not very challenging. Good WLB but you feel useless over time.
Micron - Best out of 3 IMO. Totally transperent, you know your function well, you know company strategy and how you fit into that. People who did good enough job got promoted regularly. Depending on the team, WLB could be a little issue though
Would you say intel is a good place to start and stay at for a few years i.e. till you start feeling useless? That is if the role is something you are interested in?
