Hi all, current TC 160 / Senior Business Analyst Have a phone screen coming up with Reddit for a DS - Analytics role, and wondering how far beyond analyst the skill set is / how viable that transition is? I'm a SQL wizard, and I can fumble my way around Python for pandas and APIs, but not quickly. 8 years of experience in analytics, with a lot of it in the subject matter that the DS role is for. However, I don't have a stats background, and although I've run a few simple regression models in Python, that's from a template and without much understanding of how the sausage is made there. Is this doable or too far of a stretch?
I went through the technical screen and hiring manager interview for DSA, got rejected though because I didn’t have enough experimentation experience, so I would recommend brushing up on all those concepts!
I went through DS onsite recently. SQL is medium and python is easy (plotting, filtering using pandas). Make sure you read experimentation as mentioned above.

DP : had onsite for staff ds at reddit, I can tell you that 2 week-ends of grinding python is more than enough to clear it let alone analyst roles! Question is more is reddit worth 15B ? Can they IPO ? Are they gonna lay off soon ?
