Automation pay range varies significantly across companies.. an sde in test pay range is significantly higher than QA automation engineer. Sdets with 8 yr experience get paid 200-250k comp at amz.
Not sure what you mean by "correct market", but based on my experience, the base comp is atleast > $120k for a Sr. Automation Engineer. There are companies like Netflix that pays north of 250k for Sr. SDET.
