Do not believe the Glassdoor reviews, they're from HR/recruiting, everyone but exec leadership is miserable (and even some of them are looking elsewhere.) It's kind of sad to see such potential in their product wasted on bad business decision after bad business decision. Classic case of engineer founder making a cool product and then thinking they somehow know better than seasoned sales and product leaders who have actually scaled a successful product and taken it to exit. Sentry will never have a successful outcome at this point, they've lost too much momentum and fallen behind their competitors. Best hope is they get bought, but the founder's ego is likely too large to accept that. Pay is below market rate, toxic communication is the norm, and growth opportunities are few and far between. IC's are a great bunch, a ton of smart, kind people got chewed up and spit out over the years, hoping the ones still there decide to move on to a company that will actually value them. Definitely some of the Glassdoor reviews are from hr. This review doesn't match my experience working at Sentry as an engineer though. I'm fairly sure this person is a recruiter who was let go recently, it's possible that department sucks to work for.
Ehhh if sentry is anything like it used to be this is probably pretty accurate. I have a few friends who still work there. Kinda couldn’t believe some of the cofounders even got booted. So less contacts than what I used to have. When I used to work there there was a 6-8 month honeymoon phase most people go through with the company. And then people got upset about the founders. Maybe there’s insulation from the CTO in engineering now? It’s a bigger company. But many functions are still micromanaged by the CTO as per friends complaints.
HR definitely used to write the reviews. Hopefully they’ve moved past that.
Man I searched blind to see if sentry had improved. I was an early employee. Makes me sad.
OP is it still bad?
Can confirm. Same problems, not just in recruiting
How is sales engineering and anything that the Codecov group is working on?
Not super optimistic about codecov. Sale engineering function is good, good people overall, but underutilized/underrated function
Why did you go from G to sentry? Also i have been using sentry for a long time love the product
