A good engineer should climb the ladder pretty steadily, able to handle large scope of issue, provide a solid solution, create value for company/customer, and extend their impact. Within 5 years, they at least need to get to senior level, if not management. Within 10 years, they at least need to get to senior management, if not director. Within 15 years, they at least need to get to VP or SVP, if not CxO or VC. With solid engineer and management skill, even you do not go climbing the ladder in big corporation, you should also be able to identify challenging problem at start-ups, lead the effort, solve the problems, make the start-up successful, and take back your $10M+ paycheck once IPO. Should we be ashamed of not making the most of our potential, and taking home less TC? #engineering #software #swe

Not even reading the choices
Then everyone should become a CEO after 20 years?
This is the Chinesemost piece I have read in a while
How old are you? You sound like a new grad
Death at 30.
Are you okay?? If you want to talk DM. I won't judge. :)
The TC obsession and comparison with other people and the need to meet everybody's expectations lasts only a couple of years :p Hang in there, expand your network so you know how other people your age feel about life and work
Lmao
You okay there?
