Thinking of choosing a name Aria for my baby boy.
I am indian, want to work in US which route will be better (I want to maximize my cumulative 💵 in next 5 years, including oppurtunity costs)? Also doing 2-years MS CS what are the chances of getting TAShip/RAShip? #tech #columbia #uiuc #uwmadison #gatech #ucb #ucla #stanford #faang T.C: 22 lpa Yoe: 2
Why are people voting for 2 years Masters? The opportunity cost for 1 year itself is ~$100k
I am interested in hearing others thoughts. I am at 2 YOE too but am unable to rationalize why do a MS. The opportunity cost + visa hassles in recent time + tuition costs + living costs make it a difficult choice to make. And since you still end up in the same industry you began with and that too as entry level in most cases, and having to do similar kind of work - unless you did Masters in a very niche field like AI- I am not sure why do a masters if you already have a decent paying job. You could just switch to a company abroad instead if immigrating is all you are after?
Reason: LinkedIn posts, everyone you know moving, blind, FOMO
Yeahh...good for us who chose to stay back .. the only degree which remotely makes sense to me is MBA from a good place so that you can move to a managerial track if you wish to work post 45 (the IC path is not long lasting unless folks are exceptionally brilliant and keeping up with changes from what I see around me)
How is a 2 year ms program just 40k? It's definitely more expensive than that
Schools like gatech, UW Madison, UIUC has $40k for 2 years MS CS
Interested in knowing how you calculated how much it's gonna cost
From the website, (Tution cost + Living cost.)
