T5 SDE. 15 yoe. I was told there will be one system design and 4 coding sessions for my onsite. Should T5 have more system design? Will it to my advantage to request 2 system design sessions? I feel system design is more relevant to my experience also more useful in real work. 4 coding sessions? I can't beat those new grads who have time to leetcode 24x7. Why does google want 4 coding sessions? Should it care more about my design skills at this level? Appreciate your insight. I'm wondering if I should talk to my recruiter about it. I enjoy preparing for system design much more than leetcode. This is google in southern CA if that matters.
You are likely slotted as high L4 or just L5. Number of years of experience doesn’t matter. Scope of project and work matters
Hate break it to you, but Google is looking for an easy way to reject you. There is no way someone working FT can prepare for 4 coding tests, unless they have a very lonely and miserable life. FANG is looking for young or H1B who can come and work 12 hrs every day, 7 days a week.
My L5 on-site had 3 coding and 2 design. Plus my first coding round was followed by a quick design on the whiteboard.

Ask the recruiter. They generally tell.
