Should I Stay or Should I Go (Career Advice)

Was a Sr. Analyst at a PE backed “Small-Cap” (equivalent) aviation organization, and was offered a highly compensated (90% raise) Mid-management position at a Fortune 500. Accepted Fortune 500 offer. Small-Cap countered with 100% raise, Director position, and 25% Executive MBA contribution at the Top 3 programs in the US. Small cap has a great executive team that I enjoy working with, however their sole focus is on company resale value. Fortune 500...other than better 401K matching, don’t really know what else they offer (qualitatively). Also believe they could (or already) have a similar focus on finite objectives via Street influence. Long-term career goal is CEO of a mid to large cap. Question is...should I stay (and rescind my acceptance at the Fortune 500) or should I go?

I like the small cap offer and it seems the value you. Make your impact there and you can always move to a large cap company anytime in the future

It rarely ends well when someone decides to leave and then accepts an offer to stay. The current job will soon cone to an end and you won’t have the new one you like to go to.

You were worth it before you were going to move on. That will never leave your mind and you will wonder “what if”. Take the new gig and don’t look back.
