I work for Deloitte as an SRE engineer and have been with them for almost 2 years. I was expecting to be promoted to the next level in FY2025. I have a total of 7 years of experience From my old contacts, I got an offer from Ford GSR - 7 TC- 110k No bonus 401k matched up to 90% of your 5% base salary I-140 filed after 6 months of hiring The reason I’m thinking of making a switch is there is too much pressure at Deloitte from project to project. And they expect the firm initiative to be done. I’m remotely working for Deloitte and same offer with Ford So please suggest TC- 128k Bonus - 18k 401k is not good #fordcompensation #deloitte #devops #fordoffer
why would you downgrade in terms of pay?
That’s what I was thinking. I was in an impression that ford will have a better work life balance
It’s never absolutely. In general it can’t compare with FAANG, but you might get a task that requires working late, very rarely and depends on what your position does. The trade off is, there aren’t that many great engineers at Ford (there are but handful, and it’s likely you don’t get to work with many). Also lots of shenanigans internally, budget cuts and layoffs (but that’s everywhere nowadays)
No
I-140 filed after 6 months? Do they file PERM immediately?
They said 6mo to 1 year They said they have done the NIW in the past, which is an expedited process for I140
Ah yeah they are probably gonna do NIW and normal PERM at the same time. If they start NIW 6 months into employment it still takes time for you to get all the materials. To my knowledge there is no company wide 6 month wait and it’s totally up to the team.
I wouldn't do it.
Why do you think so…
Prepare to be a GSR 7 for at least the next 5 years. Also Ford does a terrible job at keeping up with inflation.
What area and team? That's low comp for the bay area
This is completely for a remote position. M&S
Not worth it, their specifically targeting remote workers for quiet layoffs and ford has become a revolving door.
