Should I accept the offer?

Got offered a position with Truist as Senior Manager within Audit. Base Comp offered is 155K, 24-25% annual bonus plus 25K signing bonus. Relocation package is also there but dont know the details. I asked for 175K base comp and then 165 soon after that as part of counter, but they wont negotiate. They countered finally to 155K. YOE is 11 years in Audit. Should i accept the offer? Hiring manager said salary they offered is about midpoint in the range and has space but wont move because of internal equity. I feel like the only person negotiating here is me. I am already at 150K at Barclays and could easily make 155 by the end of the year. There is no set percentage annual bonus however. Is this a fair offer? Cost of living in ATL is cheaper compared to PA and thats their argument. Appreciate any insight. #Atlanta #audit #truist

That’s a decent salary for LCOL and non tech, including bonus if it’s pretty guaranteed

Atlanta is not LCOL

It’s below national average and much lower than both coasts.

What was the initial offer before 155K?

150

Seems ridiculous to pick up and move your entire life to a new city for minimal raise. Annual bonus is generally not guaranteed (it may be at truist IDK) but if its not then your direct manager can screw you over. Id think hard about it, unless you really want to move to Atlanta for other reasons

Spot on. Thats my concern too. Minimal raise and they wont go up because they want to protect the internal equity. Bonus- they seem to have paid out every year but not guaranteed. Sorta lost my excitement on the offer because they wont budge on base.

Where in PA are you? If in Philly, the cost of living in ATL is 6% lower. If you look on nerd wallet 155k base in ATL translates to 165k in Philly PA, which would be only a 10k base increase using that comparison

I have asked a few external recruiters on the base comp and they said its a competitive base comp for a non tech role. Warmer weather is another reason i am looking. Can't handle dark winter nights and stressful work days for 4-5 months here in PA

Looks like you may have your answer, maybe take it and if another opportunity pops up more aligned with your target comp in Atlanta, just switch over

Regarding cost of living in Atlanta.. please review once again just to be sure. Rent and home prices have increased significantly in past few years. Bonus percent of your base in Truist is based on your grade.
