I've recently started this month a job at a cool university affiliated government contractor for a TC of $130k as a full time employee. I've gotten a new offer from an IT staffing firm for initially $150k. The offer was interesting but I decided to pass. The company choosing to hire me through the staffing firm (Booz Allen Hamilton) apparently liked me and after some discussion I've gotten the offer up to $200k. I have 3 yoe. The it staffing company seems to be pretty legit with hundreds of employees with the main complaint of the salaries not being great. Is this a good decision to switch? I really like my current job and I get to work on a ton of cool things. There's a lot more potential career growth here. This new job would pretty much just be web development in JavaScript.
Will you be working on ServiceNow platform at Booz Allen Hamilton?
It would be their ADVANA platform.
Keep in mind that many staffing firms don’t include any benefits or anything (in my experience), so the number you’re seeing is straight salary w/o 401K, healthcare, disability, etc. Contracting has its own overhead, so I’d recommend that you get all of the details of the offer and don’t get tunnel-visioned on the $ amount. Also explore if it’s contract-to-hire or if there’s an opportunity to convert to FTE eventually. That may help make the decision easier, or at least clearer.
What did you decide to do? Seems like you have a big decision to make..
This post was a little hard to follow but, fwiw, I've enjoyed working at Booz, felt valued from the time I received the offer letter to the modified one with a larger salary.
Did you end up joining? ADVANA is a great project but can be very very hectic.

What happens when most of your team is Indian?
Absolutely, what could possibly be your hesitation when going from contract at $130k to full-time at $200k? The fact that the company upped their offer by 33% during negotiation is also a really good sign. Every time I have accepted an offer where the company worked hard to get me on during negotiation, I have felt extremely valued after joining.
Sorry, I wasn't clear. I work for a government contractor, I'm a full time employee
Still, what is the hesitation?
