I am an android user so no apple watch. Those who transitioned from fitness tracker(e.g. Fitbit) to smartwatch (e.g. Pixel) what did you think was it worth? Not able to decide which one I should get. Mostly looking into health monitoring metrics, not sure if I will be needing features such as getting notifications, call, payment etc.
all smart watches are fitness trackers. no point in getting the worse product.
I am not sure how much will I need the additional features that a smartwatch offers
Smart watch battery life is terrible. My old Chinese activity tracker had like 14 day batter life. Current smart watch has about 2 day life and doesn't even have an always on time display. This is by far the biggest downside. I regret "upgrading".
Get apple watch or Samsung
Why
I transitioned from smart watch (Apple series 7) to fitness watch (Garmin forerunner). I would recommend fitness watch, if you are into fitness and sleep tracking. I charge my watch once in 10-15 days, and pretty much sleep with it. Helps me track my runs, HIIT and weight training. Downsides are I can’t take phone calls or use Siri from watch.
Do you miss any of your smartwatch features? Were they just the nice to have ones or do you think you really require them ?
I miss some, but for most part the fitness watch has it covered. The most missed would be Siri and reading notifications without having to open the phone. I can pair headphones to my fitness watch, manually can place timers instead of Siri, can start downloaded music on the watch without the need of carrying my phone for runs. Overall, I would say, go with fitness watch, if you want that fitness tracking features. If not, stick with smart watch.
Only pain is the extra thing to charge
I am tempted to buy whoop https://www.whoop.com/us/en/
Why?
I've heard very positive reviews from friends who are quite active. If it performs as advertised, then it seems quite impressive.
