Debating at this point if I want to keep the job to try to transition internally, but was told it's difficult to do so. If during PIP, it's unsuccessful, I get to go on PIP opt out anyways (60 days working with external job finder, severance). Any suggestions on what to do? I think the best option for me is to buy time to interview for other jobs.
Did you see the PIP document?
No document, just talked and verified with manager
There is internal doc. Look it up on pulse.
Every company is different. From my exp, if they PIP you, that means they have hope on you. You should stay positive and work hard to get thru the PIP.
The thing is... I'm not sure I want to stay.
Drake, are you a TDP?
you can opt of a PIP? what happens after that?
in all large companies I worked for pip means that “we want you gone, but we have to do the dance to avoid any lawsuits” in other words, start looking for another job. Also, if you fail pip, there usually little to no severance, ask hr about that
Manager said if I fail pip I go on the same route as pip opt out
At FANG, you might want to stick it out and try to get thru it. At CapOne? Lol nah. Op get your leet game up!! Take this time to chill, study and spend time with friends and fam. Get that severance and get another job. Besides, you sound like someone who doesn’t give af if they get hired or fired lol
There are many people on this forum (including me!) who are fed up of their jobs , want more time to prepare, and would love to leave the job and still be on the paystubs for 2 months while they prepare
OK so you're saying this is a good move
Depends entirely on your circumstances. 2 months of prep is enough for me but I don’t know your prep level
Do you get paystubs for 60 days and don’t need to go to office ? That should be enough to get a job. Are you on visa ? Being on PIP is messy and usually means you are going out anyway
No VISA. Yes I do. The thing is, if during PIP I am unsuccessful I get placed on Opt out anyways.
Best option is take PIP and study in parallel for job
