A Harry Potter allegory? Btw, did you make that post?
MBA is a joke and people are starting to catch on. Schools are dropping their admissions criteria daily, gmat/gre waivers left right and center I have an MBA
I have a high enough gmat and good recommendations to get into top 10 mba.
Dropping the need for gmat != dropping admissions criteria
Once you become a manager, do it part-time
Is a part-time MBA taken seriously by anyone ?
Yes, as much as MBAs are taken “seriously” in general. The opportunity cost to do an MBA (tuition plus foregone income) is just too dang high. Source: I have a part-time MBA from one of the programs you mentioned and now hire people that have various degrees (MS, MBA, PhD, nothing). It won’t even occur to me to see if the degree was earned part time or not as we are qualifying or interviewing candidates, tbh.
Save the $200k and invest it in an Amati/Strad cello for 35% annual returns tax free
you rent musical instruments as a side gig?
Rent?! That’s not the correct term. It’s patron. Not to be confused with Patreon, Pronhub or OF. Yes, you can be a patron to prodigies or any musical talent who need these exquisite playable cello/violin at top rated concerts. Or you can also sell em for huge profits at all auctions. Or you can do both like me
You're just not going to get that good of an ROI with the salary you already have.
That's one of the biggest concerns. I won't be making 400K right after graduation, that too after paying $150K in tuition.
But will it be beneficial in the long run ?
Why is Harvard not on your list?
Too difficult to get into. A lot of variables into consideration, luck being one of them. But the ones I have mentioned, if you have a very good score with good Prod experience (which I have), and recommendations, it'll be very difficult to not get selected
Haas EWMBA is a good alternative
MBA will not bring you hire TC but could help you improve as a future leader

Do it, if you can get into a top 10 school. Don't follow advice of everyone here in Blind, most people here think all you in tech is good coding skills with some common sense, but the reality is different. I have a lot of respect for developers, but it opened my eyes how most of the good ones I worked with are narrow focused when they approach issues. An MBA gave me an edge here when working with them and I have gained a lot of respect. I did mine in the top 10 and have no regret. Not only it has allowed me to move from electric utility to tech, I see every day how differently I tackle problems at work, which allowed me to be promoted very fast. I would also advice to move away from part time programs unless you already have significant experience as Manager and want to check the MBA box. Even for part time, stay with top schools.
Can I DM you ?
It's completely different scenario.. Op is already in faang and MBA is useless. Coming from someone who is already at Faang and has an MBA from good school...
Do part time or something
