I am working as a software developer since 1 year now. My career goals are to get into technical management roles like team lead, engineering manager, etc. I have a bachelor's degree in computer science and was wondering if doing an MS or MBA would help at all in the long run? I have seen many people in the management who just have a bachelor's degree though.

IMO if you're determined and have good mentors along the way, in time you'll have everything you'll need to demonstrate your ability to go into management.
+1 on having good mentors should help you lot better than doing MS and mba. Mba/MS helps you to get contact and is especially useful if you are not in states/Europe and are looking to move here. Given the cost(both opportunity and financial), I would not see any value.
MBAs are a dime a dozen. MS get more respect.
Get top mba, like Harvard or Stanford if you’re after grad degree.
