Is meta really worth the wait?
Considering the craze around joining pre-ipo companies, was trying to think of what pre-ipo companies have the potential to go big. Thought about Cohesity, and wanted some feedback on the below questions : 1. What's the current valuation ? 2. Does Cohesity have any ipo plans in sight ? 3. Why/why not should one work at Cohesity ? obligatory tc - 300K @cohesity #cohesity #engineering #software #swe
I interviewed with them and got an offer. Valuation suggested by Recruiter was $50 / share. Internal valuation (my research that time ) was $20 / share. They said they would IPO end of 2021 (Recruiter said soon but couldn’t give out a year as it was confidential). The people seemed good . I was offered $165k base and 16000 RSUs . I rejected the offer. Overall my interview experience was great and I really liked all of them.
What was the company valuation ? 50$ a share doesn't help unless I know the total number of shares
They were worth $2.5b that time. Honestly i didnt care much. The fact that the same recruiter quoted 2 diff prices to two different people suggetsed they were doing shady hiring practices. We were 3 of us, all got offers from them and each one was quoted differently. All 3 of us rejected their offer for better offers
