I have an offer from Dropbox. Numbers: 180k base + 15% bonus + 360k RSUs + 15k joining bonus. Seniors software engineer (IC3). How does the offer look like? Everything looks good except the fact that their stock is dipping since they went public. I’m concerned about their long term market position. Can someone from Dropbox help me understand if it’s growing and is a good place to work or should I keep interviewing?
Dropbox is Enterprise which makes their revenue stream very stable. They do make a fairly good amount of revenue. Also Dropbox, so I've heard, is an amazing place to work
I thought box was more into enterprise and Dropbox more into consumer. Has that changed?
Dropbox is much much bigger than box.
IMHO the stock dipping is probably a positive for someone new joining... You’ll get your RSUs calculated at the low price. We just reported better than expected earnings, so I’d wager that our share price will recover as the market does. It’s a pretty awesome working environment here... hope to see ya soon.
360krsu is quite low for ic3.
What should this number look Iike?
Ask for 460
YOE? Not familiar with how leveling works at DropBox.
3 years of experience.
3 yoe for ic3 is surprising. Do you have a PhD degree?
Did you accept the offer? How long does it take after onsite to hear back?
Bumping this up
What position
Will be starting at L4-L5, even that’s not communicated yet. I’ll be working on the file systems team.
Gotcha. Yeah don’t know too much about them. There’s definitely folks leaving right now, stock isn’t helping. But everyone is dropping so it’s just going in line with the market. Earnings have been decent/strong so financially it’s been fine. Work life balance is good and it’s nice people.
