Should I jump or stay
Recently got an Nvidia offer of tc 330k, ic5. currently an ic4 making 260k in the 2nd year, expecting refresh ~100k this coming fall. So Nvidia offer is 15% higher. Should I jump ship? Heard Nvidia has no cash bonus, and refreshers are usually lower. Does anybody have more insights on Nvidia comp?
Is this for vlsi/silicon engineering? Had no clue nvidia paid that much...do you mind giving the break down? I dont think the nvidia refreshers r gonna be high compared to apple so long term mb its not better, then again it is an upfront benefit of 70k which is a lot for apple to make up for.
Apple might make a counteroffer for you to say. The difference is insignificant for Apple to make up for.
I heard it’s not wise to take retention offer.
Depends on your situation. In my case, I didn’t take it either.
Stay at Apple - the tech is better and in a less volatile space. I don’t think that’s enough to leave and downgrade to NVIDIA.

I don't have specific insight into NVIDIA, but when comparing offers you should not consider "potential" refreshers as part of your comp. The current comp difference is 26%, which is pretty good. That said, you definitely should consider potential increases also and how long it will take you to get to IC5 at Apple.
