Since we now live in remote world idk why I'm living in Boston. Technically my office is still in Boston but I'm wondering if I should just remote from NYC. TC: 400 M, 30, Single
Why do you want to pay more taxes?
NYC is already packed
where do you recommend living? something that isn't as dense
Why do you want to move out of Boston?
Boston is not even a city compared to NYC Having spent excess time in Boston and living in nyc currently, Boston is only super popular because it’s the only city in new england that isn’t TINY.
Ahh...what was the biggest change you noticed when you started living in NYC? Also, which part do you live in?
Everything is a walk away, the T is great but there’s a different vibe to NYC. Arts and culture are way better, nightlife is better, food is better, etc. I’ve lived in Hells Kitchen, likely moving soon but I love HK
My only concern is that you will have to downsize your lifestyle if you want to live in NYC. Shoebox apartments worth 3k terrifies me.
And 2bed that isn’t dogshit is a minimum of 5
How much does a decent sized one bed run? My current apt is so spacious and I don't want to move it tight space
NYC is a shit hole
where did you choose to live?
Give it a trial run for a month?
Your question should be , should you just move to a lcol place? Yes of course. But why NYC, it's like defeating the whole purpose of remote work. Anyways, if you really like NYC that much then ofcourse there's no point being in Boston if you have shifted to permanent remote work AND you plan to stay at your company for a while. Plus even if you don't, chances of you getting a tech job in nyc >>>> Boston
Didn't OP just recommend living in NYC at least once in a lifetime in another post?
I've heard best advice is the one you'd give to others 🤔
Then move to NYC. I'll be moving spring 2022
