I have been at Wayfair since 2017 and seen my fair share of the ups and downs. As an L3, I am quite unsatisfied by my base and my total comp. My manager could only get me a 1% increase in my base comp this cycle and my director makes it sound like I should be grateful I still have a job. The company culture is being more and more toxic every day and seems like the VP+ roles are for this toxic culture. The only reason to stay is that Wayfair is doing well in a pandemic so there is this peace of mind, at least for now. TC: 152k YOE: 5 #ecommerce #wayfair #culture

Someone should link that one post about wayfairs tech practices
Curious what post are you referring to?
Itâs funny everyone brings that post up when in reality every tech company has horrendous code behind the scenes, this guy just put it on blast.
wayfair stock has at least 5x the past 3 years, do you not get RSU grants? interested in how wayfair does compensatio
RSUâs are a big component of the total compensation at higher levels but at entry level you are only granted a handful (5k or so) My RSUâs are only 1/4 of the base inspire of having started in 2017 and accumulated them over time. that would give you some idea of my base from the original post as well.
As a L2 who joined last year I received 500 RSU units, out of which 125 vested at at ~$300 per unit. It seems like they used to give far less earlier...
Yeah absolutely
It doesnât hurt to look. You have stable employment, which is good â stay employed and start exploring your options.
There are lot of other companies. If you are satisfied, you should just move on.
Not*
You have not even listed the reasons to stay, so i am confused whatâs the question here?
Youâre right. Just updated the original post as well. I donât know if it is a god idea to switch jobs in the middle of a pandemic
Well you only switch when you have an offer. So just start looking and see how it goes.
Amzn is hiring like crazy, youâll make at least 250k
Yeah but then you have to work for amzn..
Ya its not great but no one else is hiring as aggressively as amzn during the pandemic
Leave Wayfair
No thanks I hate đ
Onward and upward. Start looking.
