I transferred within the company from support to a dev role. My petition was submitted late April and since late May the USCIS status shows “Name Was Updated”. Company did not apply for PP but at this point I have the option of “upgrading” the application to PP. I pay the fees. Company ‘strongly recommends against’ submitting a PP now. What should I do? Wait for standard processing or apply for PP ASAP? Edit 1: I don’t mind paying. HR says “it might seem desperate to file now” Edit 2: Update: the layer recommended against applying for PP at this point too. Their response: ”We strongly advise against premium processing, as we are seeing an unprecedented volume of challenges from USCIS in connection with H-1B filings generally, and more specifically on amendments requesting premium processing.”
Do they think it will delay the process by losing your place in line?
I think they place it more along the lines of “applying for PP now seems desperate”
Is Fragomen/the immigration lawyer saying this or HR?
I C U PP 😂
Apply for pp
