Interviewing for L4 at Google, was told that the System Design round is optional, and I can choose to have another coding round instead (for a total of 4 coding rounds). Has anyone chosen one over the other? What were your reasons? Should I pick System Design over the coding round? Edit: YoE: 6.5 TC: 85L INR #google
Depends on how you think you'd do. A good SysDesign would be a good indicator for L5... not doing it might make your life easier. Oh, and TC or GTFO
According to the recruiter, the choice of system design will not affect the leveling - it's simply for giving an even playing field for all candidates regardless of their real world experience with large systems.
What is your yoe ?
Getting un-stuck from a subjective design question is always easier than from an objective LC hard. I would pick up system design if I am comfortable with it.
I did the same at same level of experience. Made no difference despite me excelling at it. Was offered L4 almost top band TC. You would be disappointed. Ask for L5 right away or wait some time
Thanks for sharing!
Feel free to refer to my confusion as well : [Blind] Check out this post! Google India - L4 - accept or reject at 6.5 Yoe Faang experience? (Software Engineering) https://us.teamblind.com/s/4OwPBhjW
I seriously doubt you'll get any hike over your current TC at L4. Why bother?
TC or GTGO
Seriously? It's a tired trope
Hello idiot with 0 self confidence shouting tc or gtfo on random post. Losers like You are worthless idiot who are not liked by anyone.
