Been at Google as L4 for almost 3 years and always got a CME rating. I am not expecting any higher rating this perf cycle. Most of my friends got promoted to senior roles in other faang companies. It is frustrating to see my career progression stall after joining Google. Before Google i was leading a team and was very close to becoming a senior IC. You should use your high TC to land a higher level at other top tier companies (just don't disclose your existing level). The other option is to switch teams and be very clear that you have a clear path to E5 in the next year or two.

If you have good leadership stories it's not hard. I had back to back CME because I switched teams at Google after 1 year.
