I pivoted from Amazon in March 2024, and am still looking for new opportunities. I recently got an offer from Deloitte as a Cloud Native Engineer with TC $110k. They also want me to make the decision latest by this Friday. Since Deloitte isn't really a tech company and more of a firm, I was looking into Reddit and here for reviews on what it's like to work here... but I mostly found negative comments. I don't really mind the company reputation or what not, as long as the work experience as a Software Engineer is good. What is it like to work at Deloitte as a software engineer? Should I take this offer, or should I reject and look for new opportunities? #Deloitte #Amazon #Software #swe
Don’t do it, I used to work there. You will be tied to utilization which means you have to constantly look for projects to keep billing. It’s like finding a job within a job. Expect 60+ hours weeks.
It boils down to what options you have now and how much you need the income. The software development work at Deloitte is usually associated with implementation work, so it will always be extensions to be built into existing platforms. It’s can be interesting if you want to explore a different facet of software development. Plus you could still be looking for a better job while employed and receiving some income.

In my opinion, unless you don't mind using more of your savings to continue searching, I would take the offer and just keep interviewing and looking. You owe absolutely zero loyalty to any company or employer going forward, so take it to pay bills and bail as soon as you find something better.
Good advice tbh
Take it and keep interviewing
