Should I take the leap?

I have got around 3 years of experience. Currently working at AWS as a SWE1 for 1.5 years. Feel super tired and demotivated since 3 months in the current role. I recently started applying to a couple of places and have got EA SD2 big data role interviews lined up next week. Started brushing up leetcode and system design but a bit hesitant on getting my hopes up for any pay increase at EA. From the looks of their salary range I will be taking around 40k of a pay cut. Has anyone been in a situation where they took a pay cut for their sanity. Did you have any regrets later? Also how is WLB there in the data roles if anyone has a clue. #tech #amazon #aws #ea #eacompensation

How about you get done with the interviews, get an offer, get the confirmed compensation numbers and then get anxious about it. Right now, focus on your preparation.

At Amazon? Do it man. It’s not worth it. You’ll get more per hour.

Look for internal transfers or look for rotational security engineer opportunities to transition to security engineering. Much easier work that dev work but having a dev background will make you stand out and get promoted fast

Same situation. The jobs out there that give remote WLB don’t pay as well as current Amazon job and since there’s no internal roles open, im seriously considering switching for my mental health. Go ahead and interview first, you can decide if you get an offer

Staying in Seattle or different office location? A change of scenery could be nice.
