Should I take up this job?

Lil bit of background - I have 7.5 yoe and this is my 5th job. I've moved between companies every 1.5-2 years. I interviewed for this company in India (don't wanna name it - a NASDAQ 100 company). I cleared the interviews. However I was downlevelled from what my role is right now. I had a call with the new hiring manager who has been in this company for about 10 years now. I was explaining her why I deserve next level based on the current job I'm doing. She wasn't ready to hear me out. Her only point was - join the company and prove you deserve the level. She sounded impolite. I get an impression that she isn't happy about me switching companies this often (because this came up in my interview as well). My point - if they want someone to join the company and prove the level, why interview at all? Just let someone join and prove their level. TC is decent. I don't have any competing offers. I like the company and the project. Is it okay to take the job up? She might be my skip manager. Not direct manager. Current - 33L New - 49L

I wish I could tag more companies, but couldn't. Blind allows only 3.

Join a company at a tc and level and skill ,where you can see yourself working for atleast 2-3 years ... this freq job hopping will reduce your future chances ... all the best!

Yeah I understand. I joined my first job with very low salary. I was making 10k per month. Jumping between companies was my only way to get high TC. 😅

Forget it, she’s trying to manipulate you into taking a lower offer than what you’re doing today. If you take that job you’ll end up resenting that you sold yourself for less than you’re worth. Unless you’re desperate to leave give a polite dismissal and find something more appropriate to your experience.

If she sounded impolite, that’s a red flag imo... if you are desperate, you can still join

You really want to sell your soul for someone who’s manipulating and coercing you? What gives? I wouldn’t accept that because that’s a huge red flag and I know many people would still jump because it’s more money. What if you don’t like the job and jump ship within a year?

You would you feel joining below your level? You will try to prove yourself all the time. Worth it?

Make sure the TC is good enough, because that promo will never come
