Hey there guys. I joined amazon about 6 months ago as a swe. I was wondering should I try interviewing for google so early after I joined amazon as my goal is google. I know the general consensus is going to be just try it and take it if you get the offer. But I would like to ask for answers on the other side of the spectrum. Is there any cons of doing such a thing? YOE 4 TC 220
You are talking about starting the interview process, no harm in that. Best case, by the time google HC and team matching happens it would be 1 year at Amazon for you. You might just need to prepare 1 answer, why jumping this soon. Rest should be fine. Worst case, you get experience for next time
thank you
But preparing for interviews can harm your performance at Amazon
yeah understandable. will have to balance
The biggest con of doing this is that you could end up working at Google.
dam.
There's no harm in looking. It's also good to keep your interviewing skills finely honed. Once you get the offer with actual numbers, you can re-evaluate to see if it might make sense to jump ship.
