Give notice after vesting

Google GoldnCuffz Nov 12, 2019

Yeah, until the money is in your bank account, nothing is for sure.

HPE HRer58 Nov 12, 2019

Legally you are an employee until your last date, vesting will execute for all eligible current entitled staff on the payroll on the vest date.

Why does this question sound too stupid?

Google slickdealr Nov 12, 2019

Wait the problem statement is missing data about vest date. Wtf?

Amazon SmkWdEvyDy Nov 12, 2019

You didn't tell us your vest date. Hard to answer without that.

Lyft ly-ms OP Nov 12, 2019

Updated post with vest date information.

New year, new company.

Donā€™t do this with Google if you love refreshers

Google slickdealr Nov 13, 2019

Yep. Join in December

Google plym Nov 12, 2019

Why canā€™t you let it vest and then give notice and still see if you can join on dec 2

NetApp wvbc38 Nov 12, 2019

don't quit until vested. 1 week notice is fine if not incredible.

Amazon SmkWdEvyDy Nov 12, 2019

Start Jan 2. You can give the full two weeks notice, which is good form in general. It also means that you don't need to deal with trying to get the hang of a new job over the holidays when people are out and you're out and whatnot.

Why work only on base salary when you could be making more the whole month? Also earlty Dec is a great time to start new job, you get a lot of time to ramp up.

Amazon 8-) Nov 12, 2019

Notice on June 20 afternoon, join on Dec 2. You are eligible to rehire if you gave more than a week of notice.

Always after vest. They can let you go prior to vesting, so why risk it?
