Should men be entitled to Financial Abortions?

Since abortion is all the rage, should men be allowed to financially "abort" a baby up to birth meaning they are absolved from any child support payments for life (and give up voluntary contact with the child)?

Up to birth would be too generous, maybe up to the point where the woman can safely physically abort

Love this!!!!! It's only fair if all sexes have the same rights.

It’s simple. Give women complete control over what happens to their body. Give men complete control over what happens to their body. If men don’t want to pay child support, you have control over your penis and can choose not to ejaculate inside a woman.

Women should be entitled to get a man’s vasectomy done similar to how a man feels entitled to get the abortion done.

Logitech oXrB48 May 18, 2019

Flawed logic. A vasectomy is permanent. An abortion is a single occurance. My penis is my body. Another body in your body is NOT your body.

It's a meme that's going around. But those propagating it don't even understand the flawed logic. It's also equating having a medical procedure for a man and not having one for the woman.

There is no such thing as financial abortion. Man has to stop pathetic attempts to control woman's body.

How are women being controlled? They can choose to have the baby or not - its up to them. Men just choose to do what they want with their money

Uber domin8 May 18, 2019

Ok. But if you have an offspring, you have to financially support their growth.

For those who voted yes on this, why did you vote yes? I’m curious because my immediate reaction was of course not. But I’m in the minority here.

Adobe foolidol May 18, 2019

Your immediate reaction arose out of millenia of social conditioning. Those who voted yes overcame that and applied cold hard logic, I.e. your hard earned money is your own and you shouldn't have to sponsor something if you don't really want to.

Adobe foolidol May 18, 2019

As long as it's not beyond the point of no return of course.

Microsoft alfh76 May 18, 2019

Men could also ejaculate responsibly. Like, wear a condom? Prevent it in the first place?

Uber R2dswgt OP May 18, 2019

FTM rapes happen Condom sabotage happens Drunk sex happens

I think part of it is I have kids and I really love having them.

Adobe foolidol May 18, 2019

What if someone else thinks differently? What gives you the right to force financial indebtedness for 20+ years on them? They have the right to opt out as long as they do it within reasonable time.

LogMeIn fbdbdnfm May 18, 2019

I’m not forcing anything. I asked the question to understand not to judge. And I said this to explain why the common thinking here is outside of my mental model. I’m enjoying hearing others perspectives.

Pathetic thread.

OpenTable Meliodas May 18, 2019

No, you made it, you pay for it. We got away from bastard children being burdens upon the tax payer for a reason.

Uber R2dswgt OP May 18, 2019

If I "made" it why are my rights less than the woman's? It seems ridiculous that the woman has complete control over the fate of the baby from gestation while the man is a hapless bystander.

OpenTable Meliodas May 18, 2019

You don’t have lesser rights. The one with the burden of pregnancy gets to decide whether to terminate it before viability.
