I have been a product manager for a few years. There are good days and bad days. But I dont see myself staying in this role long term. Not enjoying the constant conflict and corporate politics. Trying to understand what other PMs are feeling towards this role? Any ex-PMs who are happy after transitioning to another role? What is it? TC: 260k
Yeah, switched to Eng PgM after 6 years as a PM and I feel way better about day-to-day happiness & WLB. I know a bunch of other people who have gone back and forth after burning out in a PM role. It's pretty normal; optimize your life around doing work that you enjoy/feels impactful. Sometimes that's a PM role and other times it's something else.
Thanks for the advice. Might look around for something more suitable.
That's the whole role right there.
Lol, I would love to be sick of PM role at 260k
Yeah, I was manager and tech lead before, but going to TPM was suck. No power and got driven around due to other political. Suck I know
TPM is not PM
