Sigma offer: 190k base plus 100k paper money/year Pros: Seems many FAANG talents there, good impact, interesting projects, huge growth Cons: not sure about wlb, and not sure if paper money can redeem after few years Bloomberg offer: 280k Pros: wlb , no layoffs Cons: legacy technologies, career growth limited, wasted of time not learning anything #tech
What team for bloomberg?
FA
what's that stand for?
both are 3days each week
Sigma has the potential of changing the world of business intelligence software. They are still quite small, so you have a chance to be a notable part of that story. It it sounds like bullshit or if it doesn’t motivate you, go with Bloomberg.
I believe it’s a good company, it’s just I am on H1-B, so I am very careful in this market. Otherwise I would go for it, do you currently work there?
No, I’m not. If you want safety, go with Bloomberg. If you want to change the world, go with Sigma.
YOE and are they all at Bloomberg?
5, 3 in bb
that's a really good TC for your YOE at BB. what was your starting TC at BB and % raises each year if you don't mind? I am joining soon and curious about raise progression
Bloomberg > Sigma Computing
One can argue that Bloomberg < 2 Sigma. Which makes us approximately 1.5 Sigma.
Bloomberg no contest
Wait, who said no layoffs?
If you think you can make 10x return on the 90k, then go to Bloomberg.
what does that mean?
Pretty sure they mean that your Sigma options that you have a possibility to 10X compared to the 90k cash difference in Bloomberg. Sigma will become at least a 10B company and that’s what most of us are working towards and believe in.
Bloomberg has a decent amount of ex FAANG, newer tech stack is also surprisingly decent.
it’s better than before, but still behind than silicon valley companies
Lol false, Bloomberg has a decent number of ex FAANG due to layoffs and the current market landscape, doubt they will stay. Most teams are terminal teams and use a legacy stale tech stack
