More people are filling up the parking lots at work. More people riding public transit. Seeing more business travellers at hotels. More staff smoking outside of the buildings. People utilizing the building eateries. People eating at indoor and outdoor tables. More staff in the office. Groups of coworkers and partners having meet-ups by going to lunch together. Having team or company picnics.
Corporate is winning & employee is losing. Forcing employees to come to work is good is for companies but bad for employees. Innovation, team work, etc. may be more in person but that benefits the company not the employee. Even if employee gets less bonus annually but working remotely helps employee to live in an affordable area and care for children. It avoids long commutes which has benefit to employee health and expenses related to car and fuel. It also is good for lowering abuse at workplace and is great for mothers with children
Ok so take a pay cut as a remote employee oh wait…
Yes employee should be given an option. To make $20k per year the suffering of living in an expensive area with need to commute is not worth it
Ok
It’s still not high, and it’s only at certain companies who are more demanding of rto. In nyc, mta ridership on weekdays is still only 60% of its pre pandemic level. Which is my barometer if office workers have returned. https://new.mta.info/coronavirus/ridership
You forgot to add more number of corona positive cases. One team member was sick for two weeks and another member is sick this week.
Certainly a lot more people are going than a year ago, are we really surprised by that?
