I had a final virtual round of interviews over two weeks ago and haven’t heard anything since. They did mention someone would be on vacation and that might cause a bit of a delay, but only for a few days. Should I assume I’m out at this point? I thought the interviews went well, it seemed like a good fit, and they really didn’t seem like the type to ghost candidates. @Medtronic TC(base) 200k YOE 9
The automated rejection email is a thing of the past.
You think so? I’ve gotten plenty of those in the past few months, unfortunately. Mostly pre-interview though…
It depends, some interviews I have had ended with no updates or rejections. That is after spending an incredible amount of time doing multiple interviews, design challenges and etc.
Reach out to the recruiter. Assuming he/she/they didn’t get laid off, lol.
Finally sent her a message today, hopefully she responds!
Incase you didn't hear, we had a bunch of RIFs and it's ongoing so bringing someone new in isn't going to be a huge priority. My guess is, if you didn't just get lost in the shuffle, is that they are trying to relocate any displaced workers before bringing someone new in. It would look pretty bad to anyone still there if they laid off a colleague and then brought in a new hire. It's good you followed up though.
Have you followed up?
Only to thank them after the interviews…not recently to inquire about my status. Do you think it’s a good idea to do that or does it come across as pushy/desperate?
I think that after two weeks, you won't sound pushy or desperate. Of course, it is up to you.
