If you live and work in Silicon Valley specially San Francisco area, do you enjoy your life or would prefer moving to some other place?
https://www.usatoday.com/story/travel/news/2019/06/11/fun-things-do-most-and-least-fun-states-us-per-wallethub/1414599001/ CA was listed as most fun state by USA Today. Having moved here after more than a decade in Seattle I can attest to it. So much more to do here. And the weather, oh my my it’s so amazing.
I will give you the weather, for sure it is great. But what else do you like?
I am a transplant from the East coast and for sure I am way more active than I used to be. If you are someone who is not bothered by running in -10F maybe it doesn't matter.
If you can afford it, it’s awesome.
I like SD, but the TC is half of SV. But then again the houses are 1/2 - 1/3 as well :)
My rent goes up 10-20% every year
I enjoy my life fine but it’s my least favorite place to live in the states out of 5 or so cities. Not bc of the pace, but the people/culture are off putting to me, traffic is awful, prices high, etc. weather is fine but shittier than SoCal
I enjoy .. but it’s a never ending rat race here. TC is everything. If you have a paid off home with low property tax in a nice location.. then this is the best place in the world
But...?
I don’t live in California but visited a few times. And honestly from an outsider perspective, I hated San Francisco. The streets are dirty, full of homeless people, parks are ill maintained, and rent is super high. I wonder why I keep on hearing San Francisco is a great city to live in. Any insider insights?
