Simplex Trading

Has anyone heard of these guys? Not much info online but glassdoor seems to indicate pay is low. Recruiter reached out and wants to put me through a loop with them and a few other firms. I thought these trading firms were suppose to pay big bucks? tax: 160k, 3yoe

Yes, but bonus is 100-200% of base

Dunno specific deets on simplex but trading TCs are typically a smaller base but much larger bonus. Most of my TC is bonus. It's also VERY important to clarify how the bonus will be calculated, as this differs a lot between firms. If you are close enough to profit generation or are "front office", you may even receive a cut of the PnL which is where the insane compensation usually begins. Do not trust Glassdoor or levels for trading comp it's usually wrong.

Got it. The base salaries I discussed with the recruiter did seem very low. I understand the PnL is variable (depending on company performance), but how "guaranteed" are the other bonuses (generally speaking)?

It is purely down to how well the firm does (and usually your own performance as well). Some firms are more consistent than others. My bonus is completely variable based on our yearly PnL, no minimum...but also no maximum πŸ“ˆ
