I recently interviewed for a SWE position at Slack. Back in January, the recruiter set up a call following the process to let me know I passed the bar, and would be moving onto team matching - except they would wait until end of Feb/early March as they were doing headcount planning for the new year then. Basically to hold tight and see when the slots open up. I haven’t heard anything yet, and also know there’s supposedly a hiring freeze (or not, as Salesforce disputed publicly). But the recruiter also told me my interview results were good for a year, in case I wanted to wait. Does anyone at Slack/Salesforce have any insight on what’s going on over there? I enjoyed the interview process and would be inclined to join, but also my current position is perfectly fine, so I don’t mind waiting for the right opening. YOE: 4 TC: 300
try following up with the recruiter again. That seems unusual.
Will do - are you guys still actively hiring? I wasn’t even aware there was a hiring freeze in January but my recruiter call was after the news broke.
Hmm usually we interview for specific teams not the other way around. Does seem a little unusual.
Interesting, the way the recruiter said it sounded like everyone went through a team match. What typically happens after the final onsite in your experience?
i would email the recruiter again. I've never heard of that happening. I also thought we do recruiting for specific teams like someone else said. But Salesforce is always changing things so it could be different now.
