I have last attempt at h1b next year. Currently interviewing with slalom consulting. Does anyone know if they allow day-1 CPT? Or offer any other contingency plan in case the luck doesn't favor?
From what I know, Slalom doesn’t officially allow Day 1 CPT (but there could be exceptions if you are critical enough - I would say check with the Immigration team) And yeah, if you are a performer and have a good rapport with leadership within your org, they might be open to transfer you to either UK or Canada
Thank you! Do you think it's better to bring up this conversation sooner than later in the interview process? Definitely want to be respectful of everyone's time. But also do not want to be deprived of a fair chance at the interview because of my situation.
I know a colleague who was on Day 1 CPT so it is allowed but It depends on the case and how you approach it. I also have a colleague who transferred to Canada and the leadership was very supportive of that! Good luck with your final attempt!
Thank you! Was your colleague working with the firm for long enough? My dilemma is I'll be new to the firm and it might take sometime to form solid connections. Whereas in D, have a good rapport with the leadership and it supports day-1. Just want to move out because of it's culture. Any suggestions?
I was from D as well! So high five! I think Slalom is much more locally focussed than D so get in touch with the GM of your locality right away and explain the situation. I have mostly heard very positive stories from every parts! My colleague was with firm for 1.5 years before moving to Toronto and the Day 1 CPT colleague was with the firm for just a year!
Are you crazy moving from D to slalom
Lol deloitte is a joke They offshore everything and pay shit I’ve met over 30 consultants from Deloitte and not a single one was competent
Are you working as a consultant at slalom? Deloitte is a huge firm so it varies per team
I wonder if they allow day1 cpt. But if you develop good rapport with manager and director they might transfer you to canada.
