Wife is a stay at home mom looking to transition to doing something to keep her occupied and generate a bit of income. (Kids are in school and childcare load is now greatly lower). What are some good small business ideas that one can pursue for $100k? Things we thought of: Baked goods Bottled sauces Boxed food service Small restaurant focused on take out. Any other suggestions? Is your wife interested in anything besides food?? For $100k, she could buy a cnc machine and make cabinets for home builders, guitars, custom decor..
We would need a workshop for this. Not sure. What are some examples that people do with CNC?
You can get an SBA loan for $1M with $100k down payment. That generally gives you access to businesses with ~$300k EBITDA. I’d see what you can get for that in your area
Would they come after our assets if the business fails? I am ok losing the 100k.

Your wife is so lucky
Food business probably won't do well unless you're operating in a niche, like Indian tiffins, etc.
Amazon Mechanical Turk if your wife want to stay home all the time. It’s fairly low risk
MLM
You guys still exist?
MLM or die working for Microsoft… Don’t you desire financial independence where others work for you and generate constant revenue.. anyways good luck with your 9 to 5 job. When you die old and poor don’t tell me no one told you
Making money through food service, that’s adorable. Pre-COVID a successful restaurant might return 12-15% of revenue, but the startup costs can be massive. Just invest the $100k and tell your wife to gig on Fiverr or something.
I am interested to do partnership if you are in Seattle area
