Spend $3100 on repairs and maintenance for a car KBB says is worth $3800?

I have a 2009 Toyota Camry and bought it from my parents for free basically. It has 186,500 miles. I took it to the Toyota Service Center near me and they quoted around $3100 in repairs and maintenance needed on the car. They did say that I can negotiate down to $2700ish by talking to the manager. Replace rear struts and strut mounts $1,147.60 Perform 4 wheel alignment $119.95 Mount and balance 4 new tires $584.00 tire id3 not recieved (basically the tire pressure sensor is bad) $256.99 Replace serpentine belt $200.98 Perform transmission fluid exchange service $189.95 Replace spark plugs $199.95 Perform coolant fluid exchange service $192.6 Now I'm not a do it yourself kinda guy and I don't want to run around getting alignments twice assuming one mechanic does struts and discount tire does the tires - thus needing two alignments. Should I go ahead with Toyota? Is it wise to spend this much on such an old car? If not, what should I do?

Sell it on Craigslist, get yourself another one.

$600 to replace a belt, spark plugs, and a coolant flush? That’s way too much IMO. Sounds like dealer prices. Get a quote somewhere else.

$3100 vs new car cost. Toyota camry can easily handle 300,000 miles. I would negotiate the repair cost or look for another place for the repairs

What is the probability that this old car will not expect more maintenance in future? Whatever is your thought, consider the future maintenance expenses too.

Btw for old car you would get cheaper and reasonable service at non-Toyota service center. You don’t need to go to specifically Toyota center

Pretty sure that dealer says this to all clueless folks who come in for a checkup. You dont need any of that.Is there anything wrong with it?

Can you wait until it breaks? Just do basic maintenance? Oil change? Break check?

The dealer will always say you need a shit ton of stuff done and overcharge you. Take it to an independent shop and ask which of the things they think need to be done.

Go to an independent mechanic. Also, good choice in cars, most Microsoft PMs drive this
