How is culture in Snap? In compared to Uber? I heard they are working hard, pulling 100 hours weeks. How come noone crying here?
I heard the same thing.. there is too much rat race.
It's possible because they are not firing/pipping a lot.
How are people at Snap so busy? How much work is it to fire up a timer and then delete a picture?
Heard it's just bizarre.
It's cause they are staring at the IPO and are all mostly hopeful. You will see a reverse trend once they go public and the people that joined don't realize the equity they were promised. Rumor has it that employees were quoted equity at twice the preferred share price without knowing it. Unlike uber snap doesn't tell people how many rsu they get or how it's valued. Give it 3-6 months and you will have the answer. For all things we don't do right at least we are upfront with that.
really? They don't tell you how many shares you are going to have?
Nope. They are literally taking offers on blind faith with blinders on just cause they're about to ipo. It's totally unheard of but they are the hottest soon to ipo so they are just not thinking at all.
From Monday to Saturday, early morning to early/late evening.
Their interview is tough. Also stock vesting is 10-20-30-40.
That's still better than Amazon
I wouldn't say 100 hour weeks except a few people who choose to do so. Most engineers tend to do 50-60 hour weeks, sometimes more if you're a part of product launches or something on a tight deadline. Our culture is kind of strange, our LA offices are siloed with each team in different buildings. Everyone works hard and would rather go home than spend more time with their team at a happy hour. I personally think it's something to do with us being based in Los Angeles as well (people in LA are strange, can be rude/anti social, have massive egos, and are in this fake it to make it attitude). Our other offices in other cities tend to have great culture from my visiting experiences. And for some reason blind never caught on here, we have about 50 people in our private group.
Too busy to post here
