Snap Culture

How is Snap doing? Expecting an offer soon and would like to know if its worth joining. I read on glassdoor that wlb is poor for a lot of people. How many hours are we talking here? 50? Im used to working 9-5 so im not sure if ill survive. If tc is way higher then ill probably be down to sell my soul. Tc 280 Yoe 3

Are you L4 ?

Google yhjtfcw OP Sep 8, 2021

Yes

Google whl🐳 Sep 8, 2021

At 3 yoe, you should just grind hard af. You don’t need wlb at this stage of your life.

Salesforce polynomial Sep 8, 2021

And who decides that ?

Microsoft bushogai Sep 8, 2021

🐋 from Google!

Drowning in so much monies, I can retire right now if I wanted to and my total YOE is around 6 years. Culture is good depending on org and team

Google yhjtfcw OP Sep 8, 2021

Which org would you recommend?

Walmart serjorah Sep 8, 2021

Ads ranking has high impact and growth potential but may not be the best for WLB

How to crack Snap interview?

Google yhjtfcw OP Sep 8, 2021

Google booleann Sep 8, 2021

what was interview questions difficulty level.

Snap psum Sep 8, 2021

Honestly you can choose your hours. If you wanna do well and work on impactful stuff, then more than 40 hours imo

Snap VJ Chauhan Sep 8, 2021

^ yep almost true. But if all your teammates are high performing then you can’t really coast however smart you are. I personally do only 35-45 but I try to be super efficient and not take on work I don’t really need

Snap VJ Chauhan Sep 8, 2021

Definitely not 9-5. Not really Facebook hours either. Somewhere in between

Google yhjtfcw OP Sep 8, 2021

Which org to pick for wlb

Snap VJ Chauhan Sep 8, 2021

I don’t think it’s org specific. More team dependent

I also got an offer from snap recently and I'm wondering about this. Would you be interested in doing a quick chat via DM to sync up on notes? I'm also curious if they give us the same offer because I have similar YOE.

Snap rand333 Sep 10, 2021

I joined somewhat recently and I definitely can’t speak for every team (just mine), but it’s been so incredible and I’m really happy I joined. I would describe the culture as fun and supportive (so far at least!) edit: also a big part of why I joined Snap over other offers was the positivity of the Snap blind posters, even on threads where other people were being difficult on Snap. Without sounding too much like I drank too much koolaid, the “Kind” part of Snap’s values has been true so far to me in my experience here.

Snap VJ Chauhan Sep 10, 2021

^ yeah so true. Kind and brave. We don’t fall for coward shitposters’ trolls
