Hey all, wondering if you could share your experience at Snap. Thinking about making the move, but want all the insider deets, if you don’t mind sharing. What’s it like? Career growth? Management opportunities? Resources? TC: 220 YOE: 7
Get ready for long hours, definitely many more than Microsoft. I felt Snap culture is very fast paced, based on my 3 weeks after joining.
Super fast paced, very political, can be pretty cut throat especially with our new PIP culture / URA strategy. Morale on some teams is pretty low right now and we’re starting to see some attrition. Snap used to be much more fun than it is now. But there are still tons of super smart people, really fun products and feature launches, and Snap does a good job of pretending to care about employees / sending swag and gifts. Comp and benefits are probably the best part of working here and it feels like most people are here for the money not necessarily because they care about snap. No career growth (notoriously hard to get promoted), poor WLB, good resources, sociability and feeling connected to co workers is highly team dependent.
URA?
if you join at this stock price you’ll make more than your manager and their manager.
Yeah, but how likely is it that the stock will ever go back up?
Don’t join if too much doubt . Make life happier
