DD TC - $440k Snap TC - ~$400k DD pros: - Higher level - Stock at lowest since IPO - Quarterly results have been good since last two quarters and business seems to be doing great DD Cons: - ex-Amazon manager - Doesn’t sound as “cool” as working at Snap - two-year refresher grant doesn’t seem great but better at stacking then Snap’s which doesn’t stack (anyone curious about this, search on Blind, trying to keep off-topic discussion to a minimum on this thread. - WLB horror stories on Blind - it’s remote for now but might have to move to the Bay Area if DD calls everyone back in - some other cons I might be missing? Snap pros: - LA-based and potentially remote. - engineering culture in general sounds better than DD. - stock is quite low. - Perks better than DD (not sure about this, can someone shed any light on this?). - a “cooler” company to work for than DD Snap cons: - a level lower (although the two overlap, “senior” is just better, no?) - quarterly results seem like hit or miss, not sure about the financial health - 10% announced PIP - about $40k less comp - no stacking refreshers - Snap employees on Blind often point to the long time to promo to L5 Yoe: 9 TC: $350k Don’t ask about this, I’m a late bloomer. #snap #doordash #offer #comparison #decision #tech

This is a difficult one. I got same Snap offer with 4 yoe(and couldnt have been happier). However, wouldnt join any company under L5 with 9yoe. Maybe try for Doordash for a year or so and give another shot for L5/L6 levels including Snap?
What’s your Snap offer breakdown if you don’t mind? I mean base, RSU, sign-on and yearly bonus? Thanks for commenting.
The offers are pretty standard at Snap. 170-185k base, 178k/year RSU, 50k sign-on/3 (if you have any competing offers)

So you’ve been at google for 3+ years? And you couldn’t get to L5. You are probably good at L4 so take Snap in that case.
@Op: Don't take Snap l4 from Google L5. It will likely count as one of your stupidest decisions ever. Your system design performance mustn't be great for you to be downleveled. Ignore DD offer and try Snap L5 again next year. It pays ~560k. By that time, you would have hopefully withered recession storm.

Can you share what was system design and coding questions difficulty level with DD? Have a incoming interview.
