My daughter's Snapchat account was compromised today when she tapped a link that she shouldn't have. Whoever compromised the account changed the associated phone number and email. Her contact with support is using the email address that she had associated with the account before it was compromised. Snap support says that the account is "secured, meaning it can no longer be used." They also say, "If you have access to another email that you believe you had previously linked to this account, you can submit a new ticket using that information". Does that mean some account *other* than the one that she used to have on her Snapchat account--the one that she's already using to talk to support? Because that's the only email she has, and they don't seem to think that her contacting them from the original email address is sufficient. Also, is there no back-end audit log that records changes to account details like phone number and email, which could be used to verify that the account was created using the email address that she's using to contact support? Or anything else that could be used to verify that she's the original owner of the account? I appreciate any help.
There have to be logs somewhere. TTL might not be long enough though.
Sir, this is a Wendy’s.
