Never buy at IPO. It typically goes down after few sessions.

I was thinking of investing in pre-ipo stocks via website like equityzen. In promising looking companies in early stages before the company goes ipo. Is that a good idea?

IMHO - no. Typically market prices stock for what it's worth. Everything is accounted in the stock price. Pre IPO hype might not leave up to expectations. Think blue apron.

Did you get pre-ipo stocks? If so, how much did you have to put in for whatever you have now, and how much is it worth now? Sorry - I know its not what you are asking but wanted to know from a real person on how beneficial buying pre-ipo stocks would be..
Nah I waited and bought them much cheaper than the IPO price
